What is a debt buyer and why should I care?
Debt buyers pay pennies on the dollar to buy defaulted credit card accounts.
You care because Debt Buyers generally cannot prove in court that they own your specific account, and therefore, that they have the right to collect from you. As a result, when challenged, they will settle for less [sometimes much less] money or even dismiss the case
outright.
